Colourfast Financial launches getitprinted.com with UK’s first Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1

Summary

Brentwood-based financial printer Colourfast Financial is set to break into the UK’s £1billion personalised consumer print market with the launch of getitprinted.com, following a six-figure investment in the UK’s first digital UV inkjet AccurioJet KM-1 production press from Konica Minolta.

With a targeted first-year turnover of £2m turnover, getitprinted.com offers a 24-hour high-quality print service for products including perfect-bound books, bespoke packaging, large scale format printing, flyers, business cards and photobooks. Orders can be made online through www.getitprinted.com.

Made possible thanks to an investment in the new AccurioJet KM-1 printer from Konica Minolta, getitprinted.com can print on materials ranging from 60 to 600micron material including heavily textured uncoated and plastics – all with the quality and look of lithographic printing within a 24-hour print and despatch turnaround. The machine will be operational within a month.

The Essex-based business, a long-established Konica Minolta customer, has also purchased a new digital cutting table, an LED wide format press which can print on high-value, speciality rigid and flexible materials, and has refurbished its print facility to create an additional 2,000 sq. ft of production space.

Demand for personalised print has grown exponentially in the UK in the last two years, which is why we’ve invested so heavily in creating the right infrastructure and capacity for getitprinted.com to thrive. We invested in Konica Minolta’s KM-1 in particular because of its flexibility, versatility and ability to deliver high quality print jobs at speed and on demand – which are all core requirements of the highly competitive consumer market we’re pursuing. It’s also the first machine of its kind in the UK, which gives us a distinct advantage and the opportunity to pursue the bespoke packaging market – whether that’s for weddings, gifts or corporate merchandise. It’s an exciting time for us and our investment in getitprinted.com is about reimaging and transforming the business to meet future demand and shifting consumer needs. It’s not just about growing profitably; this business is also about our people who will continue to play an important part in our growth plans and future success.
Darren Bacon, Managing Director of getitprinted.com
This is a significant step forward for Konica Minolta in the UK as we demonstrate how easy it is for our customers to migrate from our successful toner-based technology to cutsheet UV inkjet. This move was fully supported by understanding the customer’s business in a partnership approach and by building a business plan that allows getitprinted.com to fully realise the return on investment. The AccurioJet KM-1 and partnership approach underlines our commitment to help customers grow profitably. In our rapidly evolving world of often disruptive technology, we have significantly increased the number of AccurioJet KM-1 installations across Europe and globally, further demonstrating why the KM-1 is the leading B2 UV cutsheet production press.
