From Hardware Supplier to IT Services Provider: IDC nominates Konica Minolta as Major Player of Managed Workflow Services
Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Konica Minolta) has been named as a “Major Player” in Western Europe Managed Workflow Services (MWS) by the global market intelligence organisation IDC. The organisation analysed the capabilities, business strategies and market share of ten hardcopy vendors. Konica Minolta was especially honoured for the growing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) focus within its customer base and channels.

The study, titled “IDC MarketScape: Western Europe Managed Workflow Services 2015 Hardcopy Vendor Assessment”, is IDC’s vendor assessment of the managed workflow services market, looking at hardcopy vendors’ ability to “provide clients with a road map to higher-value workflow automation and optimisation services, and then effectively deliver them”. The study followed IDC’s MarketScape model, which discusses quantitative as well as qualitative characteristics that explain success in this growing market.
The methodology evaluated both the present and future capabilities and strategic focus of hardcopy vendors, looking at alignment with customer needs, go-to market strategy and ability to continually develop future offerings to adapt to market conditions.Describing Konica Minolta’s strengths, IDC noted: “Konica Minolta continues to take a methodical approach to the market, establishing a clear proposition for introducing and developing robust solutions through a combination of internal development, partner and acquisitions.
