Konica Minolta and Konando to help strengthen consumer brand links
Marketing services provider Konando Printing Company Limited and Konica Minolta Japan have become strategic partners, with the two companies announcing plans for a customer showroom in Kobe City to help strengthen consumer brand relationships.
With the dedicated support of national equipment dealer Motoya Co., the new digital production factory, which will be known as “KONANDO Lab”, will help major corporate brands in developing new applications for their customer bases in addition to developing effective new print communications and product marketing strategies. It will be Konica Minolta Japan’s showroom in the west Japan.
The announcement follows Konando’s investment in a Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 sheetfed duplex B2 UV inkjet machine, using UV-cured inks, and an MGI JETvarnish 3D system, which take digital spot UV coating to another dimension. Features include increased throughput for flat spot UV jobs and amazing 3D raised effects.
Junichi Arai, Konica Minolta Senior Executive Officer, PPG sales, said:
“The AccurioJet KM-1 and JETvarnish 3D digital combination is a perfect solution to meet the growing market demand for short-run job customization, faster delivery times, expanded product packaging versions and increased growth of e-commerce one-to-one marketing strategies. The KONANDO Lab will provide unprecedented research, demonstration and production advantages to print buyers and brand owners while supporting their goal of developing effective new print communications and product marketing strategies.”
Kevin Abergel, MGI Vice-President of Marketing and Sales, said:
“The KONANDO Lab highlights the strength and synergy of the Konica Minolta and MGI inkjet printing and embellishment platforms. So, we thanks the Konando and Motoya management teams for their vision and effort that they have made to build this new industrial print factory together.”
Jointly developed by Konica Minolta and Konando, the lab will be a dedicated technology centre for testing and researching the power of digital solutions to benefit the Japanese printing and packaging industries. The goal is to help print buyers strengthen their consumer brand relationship by “Bringing Print to Life” by combining the digital creative power of Konica Minolta and MGI inkjet technology.
