Konica Minolta Czech acquires WEBCOM a.s. in order to realise new services and growth
To assert further its IT excellence and expertise throughout Central and Eastern Europe, Konica Minolta Czech makes its largest investment into the expansion of IT services in its history. WEBCOM, one of the three largest suppliers of CRM and ERP information systems on the Microsoft Dynamics platform in Central and Eastern Europe, will gain access to new customers and growth by integration of their services with Konica Minolta. The acquisition will be effective as of the end of July, with the completion of the transaction being conditional upon the approval of the Office for the Protection of Competition, among other factors.
The WEBCOM joint stock company has been active in the Czech Republic since 1998, achieving a turnover of nearly CZK 350 million in 2014 (approximately €12.7 million at the date of release). It employs 140 people and is one of the largest partners for Microsoft in the field of complex information systems for management of companies and enterprises in the Czech Republic. Konica Minolta will take over all of WEBCOM’s business activities and employees. WEBCOM will continue conducting business activities separately under its own brand and will be managed by the current management. Its executive director Stanislav Hlobilek will become a member of the top management of Konica Minolta Czech.

On the contrary, we wish to provide opportunities in those foreign markets in which Konica Minolta already conducts business. To strengthen its position in the field of IT services throughout Europe, Konica Minolta has realised similar acquisitions in recent years, such as in Germany (Raber+Märcker GmbH, now Konica Minolta IT Solutions GmbH) and France (Serians S.A.S.). A European-wide collaboration network of the Konica Minolta’s own IT companies is gradually being created, with the goal of maintaining the group’s leading position on the global market.

We expect stable growth on the global market and would particularly like to reinforce our position in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. We will be collaborating on advancement and development of new solutions on the Microsoft SharePoint platform and on integration of WEBCOM products into Konica Minolta software applications in the field of digitalisation and document administration as well”, says Stanislav Hlobilek, executive director of WEBCOM.
